Bellagio Las Vegas Review: Fountain View & Marriott Stars
We stayed at Bellagio Las Vegas with Marriott Stars and got upgraded to a Stay Well fountain view room. Sadelle's breakfast blew us away.
Watch on YouTube→Staying at Bellagio has always been a dream. A room with a direct view of the fountains, one of the most iconic sights in Las Vegas. This was our first time here, and it ended up being one of our favorite stays on the entire five-hotel Vegas trip.
The other properties in the series: Waldorf Astoria, Cosmopolitan, Conrad, and Croxford.
About the Property
The Bellagio Las Vegas is an iconic luxury resort in the center of the strip, known for its elegant design, world-class dining, and the famous choreographed fountain show. The hotel has two main towers: the Bellagio main tower and the spa tower.
Fountain view rooms are the signature offering here. Many guests specifically book around the fountain show, which runs regularly throughout the day and evening. The conservatory and botanical gardens are also a highlight and change with each season, a nice touch that gives return visitors a reason to come back.
Check-In and Room
We walked over from the Cosmopolitan next door. Vincent dragged the luggage. I did not.
We arrived around 2:30pm and the regular check-in line was very long. Vincent's Marriott Platinum status gave us access to the priority check-in lane, which moved much faster. We asked about upgrades since we booked through the Marriott Stars program and were upgraded to a Stay Well Premier room on the 23rd floor. It is not a larger room or suite, just a higher floor with Stay Well features, but we were grateful.
We paid around $228 before resort fees and taxes.
Room Tour: Stay Well Premier, King Bed, Fountain View
This room was beautiful and the fountain view lived up to everything we imagined.
The view: You can see the Bellagio fountain show directly from the room. We watched it from inside, which was surreal. There is a table near the window with two outlets and USB-A ports for working or eating with that view.
Lounge area: A comfortable, nicely designed sofa near the window. Good size. I liked the styling.
Bed: Very soft and comfortable. The pillows were excellent too. We both slept well here, a big contrast from the Cosmopolitan the night before. The bed quality was close to Four Seasons level, which is high praise. Whether that is the Stay Well room benefit or just Bellagio's standard bedding, we could not confirm, but we slept significantly better here.
Stay Well features: Because this was a Stay Well room, we had an air purifier running in the room and a dawn simulation feature. The room felt noticeably cleaner and fresher than the Cosmopolitan, which had felt dusty. Whether the air purifier made a difference or it was just a cleaner room overall, the difference was real.
Drapery: The room has automatic sheer and drape controls, which sounds small but is a nice luxury touch. Two control panels in the room.
Minibar area:
- Snacks and Fiji water (scan the QR code to check prices before touching anything)
- Drink selections, all sensor-tracked
- Coke is $13 here. Do not buy it. For reference: $8 at Waldorf Astoria, $9 at Cosmopolitan, $13 at Bellagio.
TV: Around 50 inches, smooth response with no lag.
Molding details: The room has decorative molding throughout that really elevates the luxury feel. It looks modern rather than dated, which is impressive for a hotel that has been around as long as Bellagio.
Temperature: AC goes down to 60°F.
Closet:
- Deep closet with room for all luggage
- Male and female sized slippers
- Robe is noticeably nicer than the Cosmopolitan's
- Iron and ironing board, safe
Bathroom:
- Large walk-in shower with Stay Well shower amenities (Alo brand, lavender scent)
- His and her sinks with a design we really liked
- Shea butter hand lotion and lavender cedarwood hand wash
- Zoom-in mirror control
- No partition for the toilet area (open bathroom layout, for better or worse)
- Con Air hair dryer
- Amenities are a bit limited: no sewing kit, toothpaste, or similar extras. You may need to request those separately.
Fitness Center
Open 5am to 6pm. It is spacious with plenty of cardio and lifting equipment. Some cardio machines have a view of the pool, which is a nice detail.
The honest take: the equipment looks outdated compared to the Cosmopolitan's Technogym setup. There was even an iPod dock connector on one of the machines. It is all still functional and well-maintained, just not modern. Cold hand towels are provided, there is a water station, and a stretch room is available. Lockers and fitness classes are also offered.
Dining: Yellowtail Restaurant
For our $100 Marriott Stars experience credit, we chose Yellowtail, a Japanese restaurant by Akira Back inside Bellagio. The credit is eligible at 120 MGM resort restaurants, bars, and lounges, so you are not limited to Bellagio only.
What we ordered:
- A crispy, soft appetizer dish (very good)
- Toro scallion: excellent, as toro usually is
- Unagi roll: tiny portion but the unagi was very soft and mild
- Rock shrimp tempura: okay, fairly basic
The food came out slowly, and without us saying anything, they comped two of the dishes as a Christmas gesture. Our total after the $100 credit came to $65. That was a pleasant surprise.
Overall verdict: Yellowtail was decent and worth visiting if you have a credit to use. Not exceptional, but a solid dinner. I also did a more detailed Yellowtail review on my food channel (@Choetina) if you want the full breakdown.
Breakfast: Sadelle's
This was the real highlight of the dining experience.
We used our $30 per person breakfast credit ($60 combined) at Sadelle's, a restaurant inside Bellagio that has a long line every morning. And I mean long: it stretched all the way to the elevator when we left.
We got in because we called the concierge and made a reservation the day before. The online reservation system was fully booked. Pro tip: call the concierge as early as possible to reserve. Priority access exists for MGM Platinum/Noir and Marriott Ambassador Elite, but for everyone else, reservations are your best option.
The restaurant is stunning inside. Very pretty, well-decorated, and worth seeing even if you are just walking by.
What we ordered:
- Smoked salmon eggs benedict: the best smoked salmon eggs benedict I have eaten. Seriously. It gets better with every bite. A must-order.
- Cheese danish: comes alongside the eggs benedict
- Chicken with mashed potato (Vincent's order): excellent, surprisingly good, and not outrageously priced for Vegas
- Grapefruit creme brulee: good, unique flavor
Coffee was also excellent.
I have a detailed Sadelle's review on @Choetina if you want to see the full spread.

A Few Notes
Soundproofing: Not the best. We could hear noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway, including early morning activity. It did not ruin the stay, but it is worth knowing, especially during a busy holiday period.
The bed: To repeat this because it matters: the bed here is excellent. After a rough night at the Cosmopolitan, we both slept well. The pillows were the right balance of soft and supportive. If you come from a bad sleep elsewhere on the strip, Bellagio will feel like a reset.
Final Verdict
Bellagio is a genuine classic and it earns the reputation. The fountain view room delivered exactly what we hoped for. Sadelle's was one of the best breakfasts we had in Vegas. The Stay Well room upgrade made a real difference in how we slept. And the overall design and feel of the property is elegant without feeling stuffy.
The only notes are the slightly outdated gym equipment and soundproofing that could be better. Neither is a dealbreaker.
If you stay here: Book a fountain view room if possible, and try to get upgraded to Stay Well Premier (23rd or 24th floor). Call the concierge in advance to reserve Sadelle's. And do not buy the $13 Coke from the minibar.
