Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur Review: Junior Suite & Amex FHR
Our first Four Seasons stay: a Corner Junior Suite upgrade via Amex FHR at KLCC, right next to the Petronas Towers. Club Lounge, Curate buffet, and Yun House.
Watch on YouTube→This was our first time staying with Four Seasons. We chose Kuala Lumpur because the KLCC location puts you directly next to the Petronas Twin Towers, a short walk from Suria KLCC Mall and KLCC Park. We booked a One King Bed Park View Room with Club Lounge access through Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts (FHR) and came away with more than we expected.
Check-In and Upgrade
When you arrive, staff handles your luggage and escorts you to the main lobby on the 6th floor. Since we had Club Lounge access, they took us straight up to the Executive Lounge for a private check-in instead. We arrived around 12:30 PM and had room keys by 1:00 PM.
Our FHR booking got us upgraded to a Corner Junior Suite, which was a meaningful step up from the standard Park View room we had booked.
The Corner Junior Suite
Layout and feel: The aesthetic is luxury with a classic sensibility, which means it is a bit more traditional than some of the newer hotel designs in KL. Very spacious: a large living room with a full-size sectional sofa, a dining desk, and a bedroom that feels properly separated from the living area.
The in-room tablet: This was our favorite feature. You can request amenities, order room service, or schedule laundry pickup directly from the tablet without calling the front desk. A small thing that makes a noticeable difference in convenience.
The bedroom: The bed quality is exceptional. The sleep was good enough that I actually looked up their bedding afterward to see if it was available to buy. The room also has a massive TV and a Kohler bidet toilet.
The view: Due to construction around the hotel during our stay, our specific suite did not have a line of sight to the Petronas Towers. We could see the KLCC water fountain show at night, which was a consolation prize. Worth knowing before you book: ask about current construction when selecting your room.
Turndown service note: Not automatic here. You have to request it through the tablet. Easy to do, but it does not happen unless you ask.
Executive Club Lounge
We have lounge access included via the club-level booking and spent meaningful time here across the stay.
Evening service (6:00 PM to 8:00 PM): The standout period. Unlike lounges that limit alcohol to wine and beer, the Four Seasons offers a full selection including hard liquors so you can mix your own drinks. The food served during this window is substantial enough to serve as dinner if you prefer not to go out.
Free laundry: Lounge access includes two complimentary dry cleaning pieces per day. We sent clothes out right at check-in and had them back perfectly pressed the same evening. This is a genuinely useful perk that adds up over a multi-night stay.

Amex FHR Benefits Summary
| Benefit | Details |
|---|---|
| Check-in timing | Room ready by 1:00 PM |
| Room upgrade | Park View room → Corner Junior Suite |
| Daily breakfast | Fully covered for two at Curate buffet |
| $100 USD property credit | Used at Yun House (covered nearly the full meal) |
| Late checkout | 4:00 PM guaranteed, left slightly early |
Pool, Spa, and Gym
Pool: Outdoor and heated, with cabanas and a pool bar. The setting is pleasant given the urban location.
Sauna and steam room: Located in the locker rooms. The dry sauna was excellent. The steam room runs very hot, notably better than the one we tried at the EQ Hotel during the same trip.
Final Verdict
The Four Seasons KL delivered on everything we expected from the brand and then some. The service is seamlessly attentive, the location at KLCC is as convenient as it gets, and the combination of Amex FHR benefits with Club Lounge access made the stay feel genuinely premium without significant out-of-pocket cost on food and drinks.
Two things to know going in: the hotel requires multiple elevator transfers to navigate between floors and areas, which takes some getting used to. Also, the air conditioning runs cold throughout the property. Pack a layer even if you are coming from tropical weather outside.
The Curate buffet is one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had in Malaysia. Yun House is excellent and the FHR credit covers it almost entirely. If you are going to KL and want a luxury home base, this is it.
