Jin Jia at Desert Ridge is Phoenix's only Korean-Chinese fusion restaurant: black bean noodles, spicy seafood soup, and prawn toast in an upscale setting.

As Arizona locals, we are always hunting for the best spots to eat, and Jin Jia has been a staple for us since it opened. Located at Desert Ridge Marketplace, about 20 minutes from Sky Harbor, this is a genuinely one-of-a-kind experience in the Valley.

Born from generations of Chinese immigrants living in Korea, Jin Jia offers traditional Chinese recipes adapted to the Korean palate. First-of-its-kind in Phoenix, presenting these deep-rooted flavors in a modern, upscale setting.

What Is Korean-Chinese Cuisine?

If you have never tried it, Korean-Chinese food is its own distinct culinary tradition. Chinese immigrants brought their recipes to Korea centuries ago, and the dishes evolved to suit the Korean palate. The result is something you cannot really find anywhere else: comfort food that feels familiar but hits completely differently.

Jin Jia is the first restaurant in the Valley to do this well, and in an upscale room to boot.

What to Order

Jja-Jang Noodles (Black Bean Noodles)

The must-try. Thick, chewy noodles stir-fried with beef, fried potato, and onion. Jin Jia uses beef instead of the traditional pork, which gives the sauce a richer, deeper flavor. Pro tip: if you have leftover sauce at the bottom of the bowl, order a side of rice and mix it in.

Seafood Jjam-Pong (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup)

A spicy Korean-Chinese staple loaded with seafood and vegetables. They also do a Wagyu Beef Belly version if you want something more indulgent. Not great with spice? Ask for the White Jjam-Pong, same great seafood flavor, no heat.

Prawn Toast "Menbosha"

Our top appetizer pick. Minced prawn on crispy bread, served with lemon cream and sweet chili. Total flavor bomb. Order this first.

Sweet and Sour Beef ("Tang-su-yug")

Crispy beef and vegetables in a tangy glaze. A crowd favorite and a great introduction to the cuisine if you are bringing someone new to Korean-Chinese food.

Chili Garlic Fried Chicken ("Kkan-pung-gi")

Crispy battered chicken tossed with diced peppers and a spicy chili garlic soy sauce. Great to share alongside the noodles.

Pricing and Atmosphere

Expect to spend $30 to $50 per person. The Jja-Jang noodles are often considered a casual, affordable dish in Korea, but Jin Jia elevates it with high-quality ingredients like beef and Wagyu, which justifies the price point.

Ways to save:

  • Lunch specials: Monday through Friday, 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Happy Hour: Daily from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, great for exploring their cocktail menu at a discount

The atmosphere is upscale and energetic. Works well for a date night, a family dinner, or a business lunch.
